Connecting with God, Each other, and God’s Mission

Sunday Connections are peer-based communities that gather around MCC on Sunday mornings. A typical morning includes a time of biblical teaching, group discussion, prayer and maybe even a donut or two. You are welcomed to join any group at any time.

“I’ve found Connection COMMUNITIES to be the best entry into life at MCC. Here we share insights and laughs and leave closer to Jesus and each other” - A Branch community member

Sermon Discussion

Psalm 145:4 proclaims, “One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.” Come share life and wisdom with adults of all ages. The conversation will center on the pastoral message of the day and ask two big questions: What is God saying, and what are we going to do about it? Led by the Generations Team. Meets in the Fireside Room in Building D.

YOUNG ADULTS (18 - mid 20’s)

Grab some coffee and join other young adults in the cafe area as we reflect on the Bible and discuss how it intersects with life’s biggest questions. Led by Shannon Lucas and Chris Andresen.  Meets in the Front Room

THE BRANCH (Late 20’s -Early 40’s)

Soul Keeping

What exactly is the soul? And how do you care for it? “The health of your soul isn’t just a matter of saved or unsaved. It’s the hinge on which the rest of your life hangs. It’s the difference between deep, satisfied spirituality and a restless, dispassionate faith.” Join us this fall in the Branch as we view and discuss “Soul Keeping,” a video series by John Ortberg. The Branch leaders will lead a soulful time. Meets in 201D

BUILDERS (40’s - early 50’s)

Hearing God

Jesus said: “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” John 10:27. But how do we learn to recognize the Shepherd’s voice amid all the other voices vying for our attention? Join us this Spring as view and discuss a video series featuring Dallas Willard. We’ll humbly seek to grow in our understanding and ability to hear God’s voice. Led by Wally Carroll and Amy Carlson. Meets in 203D

An Unhurried Life

Amid a face-paced and frenetic culture we sometimes have a suspicion that there must be a different and deeper way to live. Based on the book by Alan Fadling, we will consider together what it means to “journey out of the fast lane into the unhurried rhythms of Jesus” where gratitude, slowing, and savoring reorient our lives. Join us as we ask how the way of Jesus calls us to reconsider work, rest, relationships and true productivity.  Zach Riley and Aaron Raby will be leading. Meets in 105D

Spiritual Practices in Community

Join Wiser Together this fall as we learn about a variety of spiritual practices to help us grow in our relationship with God, his word, and each other. Each of the practices has deep roots in the history and worship of God's people and can help us focus our distracted minds and hearts so we are ready to hear the voice of Jesus. Led by Betty Hansen and Larry Tallman. Meets in Pearson Hall
