Connecting with God, Each other, and God’s Mission

SUNDAY MORNINGS @ 10AM

Sunday Connections are peer-based communities that gather around MCC on Sunday mornings. A typical morning includes a time of biblical teaching, group discussion, prayer and maybe even a donut or two. You are welcomed to join any group at any time.

“I’ve found Connection COMMUNITIES to be the best entry into life at MCC. Here we share insights and laughs and leave closer to Jesus and each other” - A Branch community member

AUGUST ELECTIVES 2019

Class Descriptions:

“TED and Jesus in Conversation - Part 2”  (Pearson Hall)

Back by popular demand!  Join us again as we view a popular TED talk and then discuss its implications through a Christian lens. “TED (Technology, Entertainment, and Design) is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less).” These talks have been wildly popular; their combined Youtube views are into the billions.  As followers of Jesus, how do we engage with this modern day Mars Hill? We may be surprised to find that there are principles that in some ways reflect a biblical vision.

Facilitated  by Alex Lee. Meets in Pearson Hall.

“Encounters with God” (105D)

One of the most important things we have to share with others is our story with God.  This course will feature several testimonies each session from MCC folks about times God broke through powerfully into their lives.  We will pair these testimonies with discussion of “God-encounters” in scripture. Our desire is that we would all grow in our awareness of how God has been and still is at work among us.

Facilitated by Susan Stafford - Meets in 105D

“Generations” (Fireside)

Psalm 145:4 proclaims, “One generation commends your works to

another; they tell of your mighty acts.” This August, come share life and wisdom with adults of all ages. The conversation will center on the pastoral message of the day and ask two big questions: What is God saying, and what are we going to do about it?

Led by the Generations team - Meets in Fireside.
